Whether it’s an adoption event, education for pet parents, or fundraisers benefitting local non-profits, we are feeling the love for pups and the organizations that work so hard to help them. If you haven’t had a chance to support any of the rescues or non-profits in our area, this month’s events are a great way to start. *Don’t miss the bonus entry at the bottom for a September event that is nearly sold out.

❤️8/1- Thursday- FREE Grooming Education Class (7-8pm)
Come out for a FREE educational class to learn all about how to properly groom your dog and care for their coat and other needs. Groom Unleashed will be onsite at Happy Tails Animal Rescue to share nearly 20 years of grooming experience with pet owners in Central Florida to help you learn easy tips and tricks on how to take care of your dog’s coat, nails, teeth and ears better at home.

🐶8/3- Saturday- Doggie Ice Cream Social (9am-1pm)
Hosted by Willow’s Groomer, this event is the perfect way to round out your summer! They will be making be puppy scoops ice cream sundaes for the pups and Sweet City Gelato will be on hand for the humans. There will also be great activities like paw print art, training sessions, and the Oviedo Farmers Market is right across the street. An awesome way to spend your Saturday!

❤️8/3- Saturday- A Smoochi with Moochi (5-9pm)
Hosted by Furever Bully Love Rescue and The Gnarly Barley, this adoption event is a great opportunity to support a local rescue, or find your new best friend. Grab a craft beer, try your luck in one of the raffles, and meet Moochi, an adorable “micro bully” who was rescued by FBLR.

❤️8/10 Saturday- Pet CPR and First Aid Certification Class (3:30-6:30pm)
Hosted by Pet Emergency Education and Rocky’s Retreat Canine Health & Fitness Center, this is your chance to learn the skills every pet parent should know, but hopefully never have to use. This class is designed to teach the participant how to administer emergency CPR and first aid to an animal until veterinary care is ascertained. 🐶8/10 Saturday- Rescue Me Orlando End of Summer Bash (6-9pm)
Join local nonprofit Rescue Me Orlando for their end of summer party at Castle Church Brewing. There will be food provided (as a thank you for your support), drinks, vendors, and live entertainment. They will also have some great raffles going on where you can win Disney tickets, Solar Bear tickets, Gift Cards & more. 🐶8/12- Monday– Yappy Hour in College Park (5-8pm)
K Restaurant & Woof! Orlando team up to host this monthly yappy hour. Grab a seat on the porch and enjoy the live music along with dog themed food and drinks.

🐶8/15- Thursday- Pet Photo Shoot Fundraiser (5-7pm)
Orlando Brewing and AGold Photography have teamed up again to deliver this fundraiser benefitting The Pet Alliance of Greater Orlando. Slots should be booked in advance and fill up quickly, so click the link above to snag a spot for your pup.

🐶8/15- Thursday- Abby’s Animal Rescue Yappy Hour & Fundraiser (6-8pm)
Hosted by Barley & Vine Biergarten, come out and enjoy drink specials, enter a raffle to win prizes from local businesses, and meet a few of the pups looking for forever homes! Abby’s is a local organization that rescues dogs from high kill shelters and extreme situations, giving them a second chance at life.

 ❤️8/22- Thursday– Local Love Night: Greyhounds in Motion (6-9pm)
Hosted by the Local Love Foundation, and taking place at The Abbey in Downtown Orlando, this fundraiser benefits local non-profit Greyhounds in Motion. GIM’s mission is to expedite the transition of greyhounds from retired racer to family pet, by facilitating awareness and physical transportation. With the recent passing of Amendment 13 and the end of dog racing in Florida, thousands of greyhounds will be available for adoption by the end of next year. Join these groups for a night of support and love for greyhounds.

🐶8/23- Friday– Dog Days Pet Portraits (11am-8pm)
Hosted by Tommythedog Hobart, Macbeth Studio and Appleton Creative are partnering again for their annual Dog Days Pet Portrait Photo Booth fundraiser. All proceeds will benefit Pet Alliance of Greater Orlando. Click the link above for more information and to book your session. Light snacks will be provided by Tijuana Flats.

⭐️🐶8/24- Saturday- National Dog Day Brunch! (10am-1pm)
The good folks over at Good Crowd gift shop in College Park have teamed up with local favorite Woof! Orlando for a National Dog Day Brunch thats the perfect way to celebrate this awesome day (which is technically the 26th). There will be free dog cookie decorating, a photo booth for dog/owner portraits, pup donuts for purchase, and the La Empanada Food Truck will be there as well. Don’t forget to check out the awesome pup merch that Good Crowd sells in their store– we are BIG fans!

🐶8/24- Saturday- Bailey’s 2nd Annual Bully Up Bash (1-4pm)
Join the Bully Up Rescue Crew at Ocean Sun Brewing to meet adoptables, check out some of our cool gear, and have a refreshing pint of craft beer.

⭐️🐶8/24- Saturday- DISCO- Meet the Artist (4-8pm)
In honor of International Dog Day, Tavistock is hosting a meet and greet with international artist, JEFRË, to celebrate the arrival of the newest monument in the Lake Nona Town Center, “Disco”. Join JEFRË and local pet sponsors for a fun-filled afternoon featuring games, giveaways and red carpet photo opportunities for your family and pet. For more information, visit the link above.

⭐️🐶8/26- Monday- National Dog Day Celebration (5:30-7:30pm)
The City of Oviedo is sponsoring a free National Dog Day event at Bark Park in Shane Kelley Park. Enjoy giveaways, dog vendors, food vendors, and K9 demonstrations. Doggie treats and ice cream will be available for purchase.

🐶8/26- Paw Paint Night (6:30pm-9pm)
Are you part of the Orlando Dog Mom Club yet? They have awesome events and this one is no exception. Enjoy a fun and crafty night out with your pup and meet a bunch of other dog moms! Full details in the link above. ODMC events usually sell out, so make sure you snag your ticket soon.

❤️8/31- Saturday- Poses for Pups: A Rescue Dog Yoga Event (9am-10am)
Join Peaceful Peacock Yoga at East End Market and discover the true meaning of downward dog as you practice surrounded by ADOPTABLE dogs from Hound Haven. Adorable canine yogis will be allowed to ROAM FREELY and interact with you during this 45-minute Hatha Yoga class, suitable for all levels. Made possible in partnership with Diversity K9 dog training, who will be working the room, please come prepared for sniffs, licks, kisses, and cuddles. After your class, please feel free to spend time with the dogs, take pictures, relax, socialize, and get adoption information if you meet your furry soul-mate. Hosted by the Orlando Dog Mom Club, this event is getting an early nudge in the calendar because there are already just a few spots left!
