I moved back to Orlando in late 2012 after spending 8 years in NYC, and one of the first things on my list was adopting a dog. I had always been a dog lover and had grown up with dogs, but my work schedule and commute in NY was unforgiving, and I couldn’t bring myself to put a dog in the position of being alone that much. So, I patiently waited. My Orlando adoption search led me to VIP Rescue and they matched me with the little dreamboat in the picture above, my Tibetan Spaniel, Yoki. I can’t imagine my life without her now.
As a new dog owner, I quickly learned that there wasn’t a single online resource that covered all of the questions I had…What are the dog park options? Which businesses are pet friendly? Are their local dog-focused/friendly community events? Those were just a few of the things I sporadically googled as I tried to get a handle on the dog community in Orlando. I decided to buy the domain http://www.orlandopup.com shortly afterwards, and that’s how this site was born.
It’s taken me a few years to finally dive into this project, but I’m so glad I finally did, because I’m truly passionate about it. I hope Orlando Pup makes it easier for you to find the information you’re looking for, so that you can spend more time doing the things you love, with your 4- legged buddies.
